Welcome to ESL  1, the first step on your journey to mastering the English language! This course is designed for students who are new to English or have limited experience with the language. Whether you're looking to improve your communication skills for everyday situations, work, or study, this course will help you build a strong foundation in reading, writing, listening, and speaking English.

Throughout this course, you will:

• Develop Your Writing: Learn how to form simple sentences and progress to writing short descriptive paragraphs.
   
• Expand Your Vocabulary: Build a core set of words and phrases that will help you in daily conversations and written texts.
   
• Improve Your Grammar: Master basic sentence structures, verb tenses, and essential grammar rules to enhance your writing and speaking skills.

This course uses a theme-based, integrated approach to learning, so you will practice all aspects of the language together. With the support of your instructors and classmates, you’ll gain the skills necessary to communicate confidently and effectively in English.

We recommend taking ESL Pathway 1 in conjunction with ESL Skills for Success 1, which will provide additional practice and help you succeed in this exciting language learning journey.
